connecting to digital concepts card reader

I just got an iMac and connected my Digital Concepts card reader to it via a USB port. When I plug in a card with pictures, the device shows up in devices as "NO NAME", but when I open the device nothing shows up (I cannot see my pictures). Do I need to download some software? The reader is "Digital Concepts 6 slots HI Speed 51-in-1 card reader/writer". Thanks.
