I have used MICROSOFT HOME PUBLISHING 2000 for years and have never had any problems. But recently, "out of the blue", I have run into this problem: If MS HOME PUB is open at the same time that another graphics program is open (like Fireworks 8 or Photoshop CS2), then I cannot see most of the user interface for the graphics program (just the outline). MS HOME PUB is fine, but the other graphics program(s) is unusable and I must close MS HOME PUB in order to use the graphics program. Any ideas? Thanks.

That's life.

There are some programs that simply conflict with others because they're trying to grab the same resource and/or memory block... or something along those lines.

I have Pinnacle studio 11 and Avid Liquid 7 which can't be opened at the same time. When I try to open both programs I get a warning stating that there is a conflicting program open, close it first then try again.

I'm not sure if you're running into the same problem though since you say it has happened "out of the blue" and you can at least get it 1/2 up on the monitor. This would suggest to me that instead, you're running into a graphics memory shortage or something along those lines. What graphics card do you have and what's its memory situation. If you have a shared memory card than you be able to increase the memory size through your bios
