Hello,

I'm having a problem playing a movie on my laptop. The file is large (649 MB, it's a whole movie) It requires the DivX codec, so I went ahead and downloaded the most recent DivX player. The movie starts to play perfectly, but after about 30 seconds to 1 minute into the movie, my computer restarts all by itself. I've tried this in a few different media player programs and the result is always the same. I know my laptop isn't the most powerful thing, but I find it odd that it will play perfectly... then just restart all on it's own. I don't have any problems playing any other videos, etc... but this is by far the largest video file I have (also I beleive it's the only DivX one I have)

Any ideas? where should I start? (short of buying a new computer, haha)

Thanks,
Eric

To have XP display the error message instead of rebooting:

1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
4. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box.
5. Click OK, and then click OK.
