I use Paint Shop Pro. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Photoshop, but it's always done what i needed to do.

Corel Photo-Paint is an very good alternative.

You can't beat the price of Paint.Net (free!). It's lacking some features, but it's impressive and improving with every update.

Don't squat with your spurs on!

Try Picasa 3 by google....free and has some really good new features:

I use it even with my wedding and beach photography. I also have adobe elements and Photoshop 7. I use Picasa the most.

Try Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/). It's open software that is a very good clone of Photoshop - and it's free.
