I have several cd's of photo's most done on windows 98. Now have windows xp & my cd's will not show pictures

will it show you the files on the discs? if so the photo's should say like vacation.ppf or .jpeg etc. if you can see the format (ex .jpeg) then you should be able to search the web for the appropriate program to view them.

you previewed the CD's after burning them I assume?

yes often before I got this updated pc, put them on Photobucket as well, all came from this disc. None of my perviously burned cd w/ photo's will open

is it possible that when burning them you went into properties and enabled hide on the drive? other than that i'm afraid i'm out of ideas mate. I can't imagine doing anything to retrieve them other than maybe calling geek squad or using the old system to transfer them to a thumb drive or something. maybe its a program that uses very proprietary software to view them.
