I bought my first webcam the other day (Labtec), but i can't Labtec's or any other webcam software to work with it. Labtec's own software always says, that "webcam is used by other application". Even though there's not any app. running that could use it. 3-party apps. gives some error messages or they just can't connect with the cam. I have tried pretty much "everything" to solve this, but always without any succes. I have even uninstalled or removed some software that i thought could possible interfere with the cam software. I have tried to change BIOS settings, reinstalled software/drivers etc.. Only thing i have not yet tried is one that Labtec's troubleshooting suggests; And it's to remove 'Legacy WDM capture driver' from the Device Manager. I'm too scared to remove it. Or is it SAFE to remove it? I can stream online, like on BlogTV, that works fine.
