Solved Canon Powershot A2500 problems

Specs: Macintosh
LCD won't display pictures or what I am trying to shoot. It's just black. The lens comes out like normal, and the display icons are normal. I've turned it on and off and have taken the battery out and put it back. It never got wet or was dropped.

That's often caused by a bad CCD image sensor. If so that's something a shop would have to fix. Or if it's still under warranty you should return it to where you got it or contact Canon.

You're welcome. I hope you get it fixed.

Apparently there was a bad batch of sensors several years ago. Those bad sensors were used in many different cameras. Here's some info:

Your model isn't listed there but that list is several years old. And even if yours isn't from that bad batch it's certainly still possible for a sensor to go bad and you have the classic symptoms of a bad one.
