Ok, so my parents used a camcorder to record my wedding, it recorded straight onto a dvdrw (small disc it was), i tried to play it on a Dvd Player and it couldnt read the disc, so i though maybe its the file type, so i go home and open it on the computer using Cyberlink PowerDVD, it said that CPRM Key needed updating, i clicked ok and there was a problem updating, but it still played, so i copied the file, which was a .IFO file to my videos folder in my documents, now i downloaded about 3 converters which will change the file from IFO to DVD/VCD and MPEG DIVX the list goes on, im more interested in converting it to a VCD or DVD right now though. So the programs i downloaded the trail versions of were DVDzip 3.1, another rip dvd platinum and also the DIVX converter software, all 3 gave me the same message with different wording, the impression i got was " invalid IFO file!, what does this mean? Im thinking this is the problem why its not converting, what can i do, i only have a week because my parents go back home to the UK when the week is up, so i need to make copies urgently, Thanks for everyones help!

I guess that means they're taking the DVD with them? Why not make a disc-to-disc copy (duplicate)? That'll at least give you time to find a solution.
You tell us that your parents are from the UK (assuming it's their camera, it's going to be PAL format @ 25fps), but neglect to say what country you're in. It could well be a region code problem.
Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

The DVD format contains several files. There will 'usually' be two folders.
AUDIO_TS
VIDEO_TSInside the Video_ts folder will be several files:
IFOs
BUPs
VOBsThe VOB files are the actual video files. The IFO and BUP files are additions like an index or table of contents. Why you have a lonely IFO file is beyond me.
I agree with Sci-Guy's suggestion that you should immediately make a copy in case something bad happens to your CD.
