Can't understand why people still connect their camera to the computer to transfer pictures, when an inexpensive card-reader makes it so much easier!

Buy a card-reader which plugs into a usb port on your PC. Remove the card from the camera & put it in the card reader.

If same error, either the card has failed (they have a limited lifespan, even the best ones), or there is a fault with the USB port on the PC.

I couldn't agree more with Pip22's answer. Get a card reader
and 99.9% of your issues will be resolved

To Pip 22 and Thx 1138 -- I HAVE a card reader. I have always put the Scandisk Ultra (30MB) card it and I would get the screen to "Get Photos" and they would all load and show me which hadn't been dowloaded yet. Now, it won't do it anymore. There is 3 Gb space left (8G card). I can go to the drive and do it from there but always liked the other option. So after trying to different ports & it recognizes it -- nothing. What is your answer for this?!

I'm a little confused. first you say you have a Sandisc Ultra 30MB card. Then you talk about a 8G card. Which is it?

If your using an 8G card in an older card reader, that could be your problem. Older card readers could only support 2gig cards.

"I would get the screen to "Get Photos" this implies your using some 3rd party software. What is it?
