Hello. I have a real puzzle for all you computer gurus out there! I recently bought a Sony digital camera (DCS-W80), and I can’t transfer pictures to my computer. When I connect the camera to my system, it recognizes the camera fairly quickly, but it either transfers the pictures very slowly or not at all, especially when the pics are taken at high resolution. I have an ASUS A8N-E motherboard with Windows XP Professional.
Weird thing is, I have an older Sony camera which transfers pictures with no problem, even when the pictures are taken at a high resolution setting. And, I can transfer pics from my new camera to other people’s computers with no problems. I suspect it’s a problem with my motherboard.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year!

Why not give Picasa 2 a try? It's free and has some good editing features also:

strange that Picasa wouldn't load the pics.
Try this, turn on your camera when it's plugged into the USB port.
Open My computer and double click on the camera icon.
You should see the pics in there. Just select all and copy and paste them into a new folder on your PC.Some HELP in posting on Cnet plus free progs and instructions Glad to Help!
