Camera stopped working, IE8?

OS: Windows XP, AMD athlon XP3000+, 2.17 GHz, 1 g ram
CPU/Ram: AMD 2.17/1 g

After installing IE8, my inexpensive video webcam doesn't work. Updated driver, uninstalled and re-installed, but no dice. Don't think that had anything to do with it did it?

It could. IE is tied to many things in Windows under the hood. Did you install/uninstall any other programs when the camera went out?

no I have not. will try on other computer that does not have IE 8. Thanks for response.

I doubt the problem is IE8. My webcams work just fine on both Vista & XP running IE8.

P.S. I didn't need to do anything else such as updating drivers after I installed IE8.
