Are camera cables that are used to download pictures from the camera to the computer all the same? Would I be able to use a Canon cord with an Olympus camera?

I gather you mean the USB cable that connects to the PC. Most of them are the same, but I've seen a couple of full-size USB connectors on the cheaper cameras. Or, you could get something like this:

it all depends on the input-output plug on the camera. Some cameras can use the same cord, but Kodak and some others use proprietory cables. They don't fit any other cameras.
