ok im in need of helpnew sony hanycam camcorder model number dcr-hc52 it takes mini tapes so now my question is how can i hook up my camcorder to my computer and transfer the video to a cd? ive read my manual and it says my computer needs the red white and yellow audio jacks i dont have that whats another option without having to pay someone lots of money to do it for me

According to the specs, that camera has a i.LINK port, better know as a 1394 Firewire port. You should be able to connect the camera to your computer with a FireWire cord and a FireWire adapter such as this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...

Or you can get a card with the red/black/yellow ports, which is a video input card.

The FireWire (aka 1394) card is a better way to go. It will give you better quality and you won't have to play back the movie at real time speed to capture it on your computer.
But yes, a video capture card is also an option.
