does anyone know of any software that will allow me to freeze a frame of an AVI video recorded by my dvr card in my computer by a cctv system and then let me zoom in on the license plate area of a vehicle driven by a man who broke into my vehicle and stole from me. I have software that will let me freeze the video and zoom in but the image is very blurry and pixelized I need to enhance the image to catch the guy any help will be great. thanks

I'm afraid that you would need very expensive equipment and an expert to un-pixelize your video and even then it might not be possible.

Nero Showtime for one will allow you to capture a frame. Open it with any imaging program like Photoshop and you can enlarge it. You could even use Media Player and pause it then do a screen shot. The problem will be the quality of the original video and whether you can get the detail you need.

anyone heard of videofocus pro 1.7 it claims to have a demultiplexer function and frame grabber that runs an algorhythem that will take information from multiple frames and build an image is a singlr still picture. every website I have found it for sale on won't list a price only says contact for sales info (that is a red flag for expensive to me) if anyone has used it I would like to know if it works and if it will be worth the money.

My guess is in excess of $10,000 US.
