I am trying to create a DVD from an AVI file. I tried to use Nero vision with no success. Xilisoft did the job, but the DVD could not run properly on home dvd player (it keeps stalling), I also notice that the size of DVD is about half the size that I usually get when using Nero Vision.

Is it possible that the AVI file is corrupted? Is it the only one failing?

try a converter. for example VidCrop PRO supports most popular video formats *.AVI, *.WMV, *.MPEG, *.MOV, *.3GP, *.MP4. Result movie file would be avi, wmv, mpeg1, mpeg2, 3gp, mp4 and it will be controlled with width, height, frames per second and other codec properties. http://geovid.com/VidCrop_PRO/

You can use wondershare video to dvd burner, it can burn avi files to dvd and make it play on tv and home dvd player. It can also help you create a professional dvd menu.
