Hi all, I know this isnt strictly a computing matter but it is linked to my computer so thought someone might have a good technical knowledge of amplifiers, I am settin up a surround sound system but also need an amplifier with 2 outputs as i want my surround osund system, 5.1 in but also want to be able to plug in 2 ceiling speakers to be able to switch between them and the surround sound system. ANy ideas of a decent amplifier i can do this on, cheaply if poss?

Cheaply, no but have a look at the Denons. I have one and it has the ability to split the outputs.
You might also be able to use a cheaper 5.1 amplifier and output the 5.1 to the speakers, then tap off of the low level recording outputs to another amplifier to drive the two channel stereo signal.

I would suggest using a multi-channel mixer and any amplifier(s) that can properly drive the speaker(s).
