ati AIW video playback problem

i have an ATI All In Wonder 9200. when i record video i have picture and sound. but no matter what i use to play it back i have video and no sound. i have the ati dvd codec installed . had installed b4 and all worked fine. had to reinstall windows from an unrelated crash and now this. anyone have an idea what the problem is. all my drivers for the card are the newest from ati control panel etc.... but i cant figure it out.
