Morning all,
My brother was asking if there was any sort of software that could add bleeps to home videos?. We have loads of videos of partys, bbqs etc and some of them have swearing in them so we can not show them to the kids, at the moment he cuts out the video where swearing is present, this not only messes up the video but you loose some of it too.
What we want is to add bleeps, one so we dont loose the picture and too for the novelty of it.
If you can suggest a sotwre that would be great.
Thanks,

Any decent video editing program should let you delete the audio in a section and insert a beep(s).
But if you are looking for something that will automatically bleep out vulgar language in a video, I don't think you will find anything like that at a price you could afford.

No definetly not looking for something that would automatically detect and bleep words, just something that we manually can specify where to bleep. for example, i can tell the software to add a bleep at 12 minutes 32 seconds for 3 seconds.
can you suggest a software?
thanks,

I can't recommend one because I've never done that type of editing. The editors I use are just for cutting out commercials. But you can find a bunch of free editors at:
http://tv.isg.si/site/?q=node/873If it was me, I would probably 'try' the Zwei-Stein editor first. I think it 'might' do what you want.
You might also need an audio recorder/editor to create the beeps. 'Audacity' would probably work for that.
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/For a non-free video editor, Pinnacle seems to be pretty popular.

I have a much more simple cure for you. When you are videoing your "activities", why not just ask your esteemed guests NOT to swear in the presence of the camera - for obvious reasons. A simple, no cost solution and your kids will respect you for it.
