I have a very smalll video camera and next to the batteries is a memory card slot ! Wanting to add more storage capability I decided to purchase a 1 G.B Memory card ! FYI, Iam a complete newbie to video recording. I purchased a Memory Stick PRO Duo (multu use) 1 GB card ! Well apprently this card is to small for my camera which the book says takes a MMC/SD Memory Card ,however after doing a google search on this Memory card I purchased for $24.00,apprently you can purchase a adapter ,is this what I need so that the card will fit the memory slot in my camera? Sorry for my lack of knowledge in this area and I will greatly appreciate any attempt to help me !
Thanks ,Nick

Memory Sticks are only for Sony cameras (afaik). They are not interchangeable with other types. If you camcorder's manual specifies an SD card, that's what you need. Note: there are three physical sizes of SD cards, Standard, Mini and Micro. Double check to see which size your camera uses (probably standard). The MMC (Multi-Media Card) will be hard to find, but the SD's are everywhere.

Thank you ,for your reply to my ? ,I went ahead and purchased the correct memory card for my system a standard size SD 1GB Memory
Card ! Now I need to find someone with a Sony camera that will take this micro SD 1 GB card off my hands ! Cant find receipt ,pd $24 for it without adapter !
Take Care ,Nick

You're welcome!
You originally said you had a "Memory Stick". That is a Sony brand name and fits Sony cameras. A micro SD with fit other electronics, even cell phones and some GPS units. So if, in fact, you have a micro SD card, you shouldn't have any trouble getting rid of it.
