Which TV is best of the two?

Specs: Ubuntu 12.04, Intel i5-3570 @ 3.4GHz & Kingston Hyper-x 16GB @ 1600MHz
I'm not that interested in the TV function as I have pretty good Media set up. But taking into consideration picture/power consumption & life, which is the best of these two?

Sony 40 inch BX450
Samsung Series 5 LED TV UA40EH5006

Personally, I see Sony and cry with joy, and see Samsung and cringe. I'm trying not to let prejudice cloud my mind in this matter, as the Samsung seems a substantially better for the same price. Here's some links:

Also, what do DSE mean by "5.1 Channel Audio Out" on the listing?
I plan to have this TV for at least 5 years. I have a 55" Vivo at the moment that I was given for free that I'm changing out for this. Quality over Size any day.

Thanks in advance!

Sony would be my choice - build-quality & picture quality far superior to Samsung.
The only brand I would buy if not a Sony would be a Toshiba.

"5.1 Channel Audio Out" means it can output sound to a 5.1 surround-sound speaker system (5.1 means five mid-range speakers plus one sub-woofer).

I have always only bought Sony or Panasonic tvs so far, then one day last year i decided to get a UE55ES8000 Samsung TV and i have to say i will NEVER buy anything but Samsung from now on. Picture quality is immense better than i have ever had on any other TV. I used to be a Sony fan but then Samsung came along......

One thing i always do is go to a store with a few TVs in mind and as for a demo. Then buy the one i like. Maybe try that?
