Vids won't play on MP3 player

Have used the disc that came with the MP3 player, which I found converted the files to MTV format (I had to download a video converter to change the avi files to wmv files first, because couldn't find a codec that worked for Quicktime or Realtime). But when these vids are transferred to the player it comes up with the message "Dev. Not Support". Also, the actual Vid Converter that was used to convert the file to MTV format says the video frame rate is not enough and needs the output frame rate adjusted to 25fps, which I did with another download. Any ideas on how to use my MP3 player the way it is intended??
