Hi guys,
Recently I've bought Tech-Com TV Tuner card SSD-TV-670 ver:945 Model (No FM). The unit is pretty good video clarity is good.
The issue is with the sound and Remote control.
There are three sockets in my TV Tuner Card.
1. Remote
2. Audio-Out
3. Audio-In

There are three sockets in my sound card also(On board sound card)
1. Microphone
2. Line-out
3. Line-in

A small cable is supplied to connect from TV card Audio-out to Sound Card Line-in or microphone.

The issue is there is no sound coming from my speakers. I've connected te cable supplied with the set from TV tuner card Audio-out to Sound card Microphone.

I've tested the hardware and it's working fine. If I test hardware using Audio devices in control panel the playback is coming but once the test is over the sound is not coming. If I record any program then I can hear the sound but while watching tv I've connect the speaker cable directly to TV tuner card. Which makes me change the cable very often. If I plug-in the speaker directly to TV tuner card there will be no sound from my PC programs like Winamp.

This TV tuner card is powered by Phillips SAA713x chipset. For details of the card visit http://www.techcomindia.com/home.ph...
But the image provided is quite different than actual unit.

In settings for playback I'm not getting options for Microphone or Line-in.
Even the remote control is not working. I've plug-in the remote control reciever to the socket provided for that but remote is not working.
please help me sort out the issue.
For any queries please revert back.

I don't know if this will help, but normally you plug the cable from the tuner card audio out to the sound card 'line-in'. If the cable is stereo, I think it definitely should be plugged that way. If it's a mono cable then maybe it should go to the microphone input.

"In settings for playback I'm not getting options for Microphone or Line-in. Even the remote control is not working."

Now that might be a different story. It might be a driver issue.

If you have gone through the manual thoroughly, I would suggest calling Tech-Com support.

Hi aegis,
Thanks for the reply. Under hardware test mode the playback is working fine. But once the test is over the sound stops. I've followed the manual correctly and installed everything.... but still no use...

If this is a onboard sound chip, you might want to enter your BIOS setup and make sure that your onboard audio device is not disabled. It will sometimes automatically disable it when installing certain cards. I was just dealing with this problem. Big headaches!
