Last evening I was listening to an internet stream of a radio talk show (the streams generally use Windows Media Player, I have V11) when that show ended I went back to Radiotime to find another program I listen to via the same message. It opened in a new window like it generally does, and during or right after the "commercial" video played, it crashed with the encountered a problem needs to close do you wanna send message.

I go in thinking maybe its the cache, delete all that. Try again same issue.

Not wanting to spend a lot of time on it, I just switch over to firefox and try with that, Same issue.

Tried googling it with no luck.
Went to MSKB didnt find an exact problem but did follow steps of deleting DRM cache -didnt work.

Uninstalled the Firefox plugin-reinstalled, didnt work.

Uninstalled and reinstalled Media Player. Again nothing.
Did a system restore back to Friday evening. That also did not work.
Dont think its the browsers themselves because when I run media player on its own, go into Radio, and choose a station I get the same Encountered a problem, need to close message

Gave up last night.

Today ran cleanup, deleted all caches, etc.
Still not working.
Short of doing a repair/re-install of windows, is there any solution?

Hi there. I had the same problem, IE and FF crashed when streaming audio. In my case, I updated to Media Player 11 (win XP) and that solved my problems. I believe that some virus had damaged some files or WMP installation and file updating fixed the damaged files. I had tried "uninstalling" WMP from control panel, but that just causes to "deselect" the program rather than causing a fresh install/reinstall.
