splitting audio from a dvd

is there a program out there in which i can extract the audio from a dvd (karaoke) from the video? i want to take the music from the dvd and put it onto a cd.

You can do this in Windows Sound Recorder. Simply set it to record from 'Stereo Mix' or whatever the output is called. Then play the DVD and whatever sound it makes out of the speakers will be captured in Sound Recorder. Admittedly this will take a long time as you will have to play the DVD at normal speed to record it all...
There may be other programs that can do this but Sound Recorder is free...
