Sony mem card isnt showing up

I have a sony cybershot DSC W30 digital camera. it has memory card of one GB dat also is a sony make.the problem is when i put memory card in camera and view files..it shows up all the pictures in it but when i plug camera to pc to shift pictures i can see the camers i can open it even..but there r no files in it. however if i run virus scan on it....it shows all the pics getting scanned but i cant see the pics...i have very important pics that i need to paste in my degree project.please help! :(
