I was told the Sony rear projection 3LCD (42/50") HDTV is the TV to buy. Anyone input on this - pros/cons.

If you have the money, then the best thing to get is the real size in PLAZMA (lcd doesn't go that large.
Short of that lcd projection, front or back, is good.
First check the price on replacement bulbs though. The lighting system is not like a regular CRT type rear projection in that it does not last 10 years.
Some of these projector bulbs have a life of maybe 400 hours and they cost about $300 to replace. It's one of the reasons lcd projection has not been accepted as widely as one would think.

I bought the Sony before you posted it has not been delivered. I looked at the JVC 52" D-ILA HD projection TV - what is your opinion on this set? Not much info out there.

Never mind the JVC has a bulb and it costs $3,163.16 to replace (part) the OPT mecha unit.
