Hi, I interview people on the phone for articles I write. I'd like to be able to record the phone conversation on my PC. I access internet via DSL Modem (Westell 2200+) which is hooked to my Netgear router (Home network). I downloaded software 'Call Corder' which installed fine, but won't work. Has anyone had any luck setting up Call Corder to work with a DSL Modem? Thx - brendan

Call Corder only works with analog modems IE. dial-up. It won't work with a DSL modem because the siganl is digital.

Kurt - Thx for your quick response. I do have an onboard HSP56 MR (Sis) modem which shows as data/fax/voice/speakerphone ready. So I believe that THIS modem should work with Call Corder under the COM settings in Call Corder. If I was to choose TAPI setting in Call Corder, shouldn't that work with a digital signal? I'm thinking that I'm having a conflict with 1 computer attaching to two modems. Thanks for any thoughts. Brendan

It shouldn't have a conflict with the DSL modem but you can't tie together the DSL and dial up modem, it doesn't work that way.

Your best bet would be to go to your local electronics store (Radio Shack will do) and get one of those devices you connect to your phone to record conversations. Then plug that into the microphone input on your sound card and use a program like Total Recorder or Audacity to record the conversations.
