Hi, i have a panasonic dvd/video 250gb hd
i havent had it long, i have been testing it
(and myself) but having a bit off difficulty
transferring DVD content to the harddrive (i have been able to transfer HDD content to a dvd)when i try to transfer to the HD it keeps telling me to insert a valid disc to the source drive (there is a disc in thr drive)
(i know the disc would be compatible) on the tv screen
DVD TO HDD THEN THE SOURCE (DVD) THEN
DESTINATION HDD but it it keeps telling me to insert a valid disc to the destination drive
i know its probably something simple! but its finding it!! Also i havent been able to copy my 8mm tapes yet. I have invested in this machine to catch up on a lot of transferring!
I would gladly appreciate replies thankyou.
Regards Jenny

I'm not sure that I understand what you are trying to do, gentlydoesit. But it sounds to me like you are trying to do a 'disc copy' from a DVD drive to a hard disk, and that will not work.

If you want to copy the contents of a DVD to a hard drive, you should create a new folder on the hard drive and then use My Computer to copy the contents of the DVD to it.

I'm afraid that doesn't completely clear things up, gentlydoesit.

I don't understand
"Panasonic dvd player/recorder, with harddrive"

Is it a combination DVD drive and hard drive? I have never heard of such a thing.
What is the model number?
Is it a standalone unit not connected to the PC?

(edit) I think I finally understand, gentlydoesit.

I think your best chance of getting help is by going to Panasonic tech support for that unit. I think the chances of finding someone with experience on that box here is pretty small.
