My remote control controls 2 screens !

September 12, 2012 at 06:31:22
Specs: Windows 7

I recently acquired a Samsung TV : SAMSUNG 32ES5500 TV LED
My computer screen is also a Samsung (though I don't have the model in mind, sorry).

After having installed my brand new TV, I put the battery in the standard Samsung remote control, turned it on and .... Wow ! My TV turned on but ... my computer screen turned off.

Is there a way to change frequencies or something, so that my remote control only has effect on my TV ?

Thanks in advance for your help !

Im not sure how your remote can turn off your monitor as i dont think monitors have any receivers - unless of course your one does.......

is your computer connected to your TV and monitor either directly via a VGA/DVI or HDMI cable? or through some sort of home theatre system?

The reason i ask is because, if you do have both connected to the PC, then when the TV turns on it probably takes over as the primary display.

Otherwise if it is in fact the remote then i would be interested in the model of your monitor - i want one :)
