joining several AVI files

I want to join several AVI files. Windows movie maker will join them but I can't see how to save the new JOINED file as an AVI. It onlysaves as a windows movie maker file. Is there a setting I don.t see. Or is there another program that will do this for free.

Using it's Help file see Saving to My Computer and Choosing a movie setting where you can choose .avi.

Thanks i figured that out. Can i take a complete 30 minute movie and join with a 15 minut emovie without cuting it up into many pieces.

try easy video joiner and easy video splitter. Have a google for them.
