I have downloaded a audiobook in mp3layer 3 format. I cant get itunes to list it in the library. It just wont transfer over. the file is good, as i can play it in windows but itunes wont list it. i get no error messages. i have tried all the obvious ways to import and add files to the library. what can you suggest?
Just because the file plays in Windows Media Player, doesn't neccessarily mean it's 'good'. More than likely, it's not pure MP3. For example, if you rip a CD to .WMA format, then simply rename the files to .MP3, they still play in Windows media player, but not in iTunes.
i have this same problem with mp3 files that i know are good. When i cleared my itunes library to clean it up and tried to add songs from the itunes folder which are songs that itunes has imported itself they just refuse to show up without any sort of message which is frustrating because i have no other way to copy them onto my ipod. It seems to happen to whole albums that i have imported from CD's. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
If the file has been deleted from the library file, it doesn't matter where it's located. You have to re-import it...even if it's a file that was imported from a CD.
