My computer crashed, now I need to connect my Ipod to a new computer but don't want to lose all the music I paid for and stored on it.

Launch iTunes on your new computer. Go to Store and authorize the computer. Then go to File and Transfer purchases from iPod. You should be good to go.

You can use this tool to copy songs, videos, photos, playlists, podcasts and more from your iPod back to itunes on your computer. It is a fantastic itunes alternate. You can use it to manage your iPod. It won't erase your ipod content

You can use an ipod to computer transfer program to copy all the files from ipod to your new computer first.I personally use Cucusoft iPhone/iTouch/iPod to Computer Transfer. It helps me to transfer my songs/videos/photos from ipod to my computer directly and safely. It works well for me,you can give it a try.
Free download it at: http://dvd-video-soft.com/ipodconve...

It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process.
Hope it helps.
