Does anyone know of a free program that will edit blemishes on a persons face that is free? I have been using Paint shop pro4.15 for years and Xnview(the latest) as I am on a pension and can't afford much software. The budget is done for the year and that is it. I ave tried to match the colour and just paint over blemishes ona subjects face but PSP just doesn't match the skin colour.

Have you tried PSP's Clone tool yet?

Look for a spot on the image that closly matches the coloring and shading of the area you want to repair. Clone it and paste it.

Oh don't know about that tool! Do you mean copy and paste? I have an old version of PSP.

No, it is not copy and paste - it is called cloning. And when people add or remove elements from a photo it is referred to as PhotoShopping however it is more corectly called cloning.

Cloning is what you need. There are no blemish correction tools that I know of aside from scratch and dust removers.

OK yeah this version is limited. If I had of upgraded years ago things would be better but no $$$. So where in the menu of the program in your version do you find cloning? Is it mentioned as specifically that or could the wording be something else?

Thanks I am starting to get the idea now. Will take some experimentation as I am trying to cover a whole face of a picture of myself. It is an old pic and I was wearing light makeup that day. It looks bad because the rest of my body(shoulders and neck) shows my olive skin.

The free program Photo Filtre is fantastic for that too. You can do so many things with it.... might want to check that out as well.
I've used it many, mant times to touch up / edit out flaws in photos; works fabulous, and it is free !
