Solved How to split 4K/3D HDMI Cable?

Specs: Windows 8.1
My plan is to split my cable box's HDMI to run to my TV and to my XBOX ONE. The way it is setup now is my XBOX has to be on for me to watch TV, unless I just go straight into the TV from the cable box. I don't want to keep switching the wires when I want it the other way. My plan is to split my signal from the cable box, but unsure of a few things. First, will it matter if only one output is being used at a time? Will it damage the splitter? (Cable Box to splitter to TV, or Cable Box to splitter to XBOX to TV. Both Options will be used on the same TV) Second, I also found a couple different types of splitters some powered and some are not. Which ones are the best by far any comparison where money has no factor? I've read that the powered ones are the way to go for my application. I am hoping someone did exactly what I want to do and can guide me in the right direction (splitter wise) I do not need a switch as I have 4 Inputs in my TV. I plan to get a receiver eventually to eliminate any need for a switch anyway. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for reading this.
