What are the current options in distributing content to multiple flatscreens as on a "news wall", if the content is merely text and not many of them will have moving multimedia, but slowly scrolling text, or even just auto-updates every x minutes?
Is it possible to run such a news wall of lets say more than 6 flat screens from a single computer? Are there devices available that can connect 6 or more flat screens to only one computer? Without having as many graphics cards in the machine? Even from a laptop?
Are there for example some devices that provide one point of connecting that many/multiple screens, and then only one cable goes into the single computer that runs it all?
If so, I assume that some special software or graphics card is needed? It is not a matter of switching between them, but providing them all with different content simultaneously.
I have no idea how modern solutions for this works, grateful for any explanations.
(I plan to use big flatscreens divided into sections using normal windows, in case anyone feels like suggesting that. But I will still have 6 or more physically distinguished screens.)
Curious about what is possible simplicitywise on any Windows version or Linux distro, or Mac for that matter.
