Hi folks,
Recently I just bought the Sony HDTV, but the problem is that the HDTV is not receiving any hd channel. To setup the HD channel I performed the autoprogram, but it was not successful.
Thanks for any solution!

Are you sure your cable TV provider is sending a digital HDTV signal. Sometimes they have to turn that feature, on. Get your cable TV provider to help you troubleshoot. If you are trying to get "over the air" broadcasts, do you have a external antenna connected and are you sure there are stations in your area broadcasting digitally?

Also you may need a cable box that is capable of receiving HD signals.

Some cable providers provide some free HD channels with basic service. If your TV has a QAM tuner in it, and your cable provider has some unscrambled HD channels, you can get HDTV channels that way. Comcast in the central Virginia area for example provides local channels in HD this way, but virtually nothing else.

However, there is no requirement of cable providers to have such channels. In that case, you would need either their tuner box to decrypt their scrambled signals, or install a CableCard from them into your TV should your TV support CableCard.

You need an DTV antenna and live close enough without obstructions that cause interference.

For antenna directional info, check out the following:

Mohagian:

Does your TV have an ATSC tuner? An ATSC tuner is required for over-the-air broadcasts.
