Pending the card is HDCP compliant; DVI will be able to output 1080p content correct?

I ask because, I recently purchased Dell's UltraSharp 24" HDCP LCD monitor (1920x1280 resolution), a Pioneer Blu-Ray drive (5.25" drive -- not an actual console) and am now in the market for a decent video card that will enable me to view 1080p Blu-Ray content on the monitor.

I was initially told that I need a card and monitor with built in HDMI ports, or my card would need a TV-out port, and composite inputs on the monitor, etc.

If so, does anyone have any recommendations on a decent video card that can get the job done?

Don't have a recommendation but what you need is HDMI or COMPONENT (not composite, which will not support hi def.

I would not go to any major expense. With a 24" monitor you will not notice too much difference between upscaled dvd and hi def.

I have both HD DVD and Blu Ray.... they work best on big screens. The general recommendation for Blu Ray, or HD DVD for that matter is is a 40" screen or better. Anything less than that and the Hi def really isn't that noticeable.
