Dell laptop is connected to Sony stereo system (for audio only ) and is working, but one speaker is making faint beeping noises. the sony guys tell me this is coming from the computer. anyway to stop it? The music drowns it out but I want to know if there is something I need to take care of.

I had a similar issue using my Laptop to DJ (years ago) but I believe I pluged my laptop to a GROUNDLESS plug. Try those extention cords with only two prongs so the laptop ground is exposed. Fiddle around that idea. If that didn't work then it's something about the ground.
