Folks, I don't frequent this forum, and I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but I'll give it a shot.

I recently purchased a set of DVDs (a Showtime Series.) The way I see it, I've paid for the show and not the media, which should allow me to make copies for my own personal use, right?

Anyhoo...Disk 4 is giving me a message similar to "Disk is copy-protected, etc......" The error is generated both in DVD Shrink and Sonic/Roxio. Not the same error, but the attempt to create an ISO fails nonetheless.

Are there any free programs that I can use to bypass this irritant so that I can make a back-up copy of my not-so-inexpensive DVDs? Thanks much!!!

AnyDVD has a free 21 day trial. I don't know if the trial version has any restrictions.

You can use this dvd copy tool to copy the DVD to another blank DVD disc directly even if you have only one dvd slot. it can help you duplicate the dvd (even it is copyright protected) and make it as the same as the original.

Most commercially produced DVDs are always protected with region coding, Content Scramble System (CSS) and other artificial restrictions. Then you should use DVD copy program to help you.

I know a DVD copy software which can remove the DVD copyright or CSS protection automatically. It also can copy all DVDs from DVD9 to DVD5, DVD5 to DVD9, DVD5 to DVD5 and DVD9 to DVD9 with original quality. With this DVD copy program, I made some protected DVD copies successfully, such as I_AM_LEGEND and UDD0NNW1.I can share them with my family and friends smartly. It provides Copy Mode Function, such as main movie, full movie or custom movie mode. I chose main movie mode (just movie, no advertisement, feature etc.).I found it can save many time for me. Personally speaking, it's nice program.
