From personal experience, unless you have a HD TV (High Definition) you won't get the clearest picture. The best way to view pics, games or your own desktop is to sit far from your TV and put your resolution as small as possible. Or, a projector (which I hope to get one day :D) Perhaps i'm totaly wrong about this. Someone else let me know.

Agree....

I think a composite signal is somewhat better (the connection that uses 3 RCA jacks)...but not that many TVs have composite IN connectors.

With S-Video use the highest res possible, tweak the contrast/brightness a bit, AND use the largest possible source file (e.g. 4mega-pixel pic files rather than 1, etc). This will make things bearable.

But even at best, it's not gonna be crisp like it is on your computer screen because standard TVs don't have anywhere near the equivalent resolution of your monitor. That's only possbile with HD....and the look won't be exactly your screen unless you have an LCD or Plasma HD (I think some of these even have VGA connectors). ALSO, you can get Video cards now with HD OUT connectors that will plug directly into some HD TVs.

HTH

Hi

I have my pc connected to my cable box using a sender unit and a composite connection to my pc. I tried both antena and s-video but the picture was poor. The composite signal is very good
The only thing that affects the picture is having a wireless card too near to the sender unit

That's because resolution of normal TV is very less compared to computer monitor.

Right; TV resolution is about half that of a monitor.

I tend to use the monitor to watch TV in the bedroom. A 19" crt is not expensive and the picture is great.

I use composite to connect my video to my capture card and it works fine.

I use s-video and its grainy as anything!

I stuck to what works....composite!
