Coby MP3 Player - MP815

Dell / Dimension e521
February 8, 2010 at 00:11:20
Specs: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic, 1.9 GHz / 957 MB
i had already added on some songs and a
couple videos from windows media player
cause with all my other mp3 players that's
what i use. it was working fine and i really
liked it. but on the Coby Media Manager that
comes with the mp3 player, it said something
about "formatting" the mp3 player so i clicked
on it. while it was formatting it said do not
disconnect the device, but on accident i
dropped it and it disconnected... for some
reason on the mp3 player my music is still up
but everytime i click on a song it says "file
open error" and when i look for files on the
mp3 player it says "no files." so it says in the
music part it says it still has all the songs but
i can't play any of them. and also it says the
mp3 player it has no more space left though
before it only had 47 songs and plus my mp3
player still says it has NO files on it. plus
when i connect to the computer, it sometimes
it doesn't read it or doesn't let me do anything.
i've tried re-formatting it but that doesn't work. i
tried resetting it but that doesn't work. please
tell me what happened to my mp3 player and
what i can do to fix it. thank you.

Try this:

To enter Settings mode, select SETUP in the Main menu.
The following options are available. Some of these options
may be set from the Quick Option menus.

Click on Load Default

The player has malfunctioned.
Reset the player (use a paper clip to gently press the
Reset button on the rear of the player) and try again.

Do not interrupt the firmware upgrade process—
doing so could damage your player and render it
inoperable. See the documentation that is included
with the firmware upgrade file for detailed instructions.

If these don't work, you may have a paper weight.

I have the same thing too! Except I still have radio. And when I click "Load Default" that doesn't fix it.
