I have a friend that has 3 generic security camera feeds going to 3 small TV monitors. Generic as in analog/Coax video feed. What options does he have to get these signals on his Windows monitor without buying new security cameras? Is there some kind of USB or Firewire box we can buy and convert the Coax signal to a digital format? He wants to do this so he can view his security cams while he's at work doing a VPN to his house computer.

To show 3 cameras on the monitor, the easiest way is to get a 4 channel video input card. To get the output on the web requires the proper software.

Thanks for the response. I think the "4 channel video input card" is the exact term I was looking for.
He's not really looking to post the camera surveillance on the Web really. If we can get all 4 signals on his computer monitor, then he can use VPN/Terminal Services to view his monitor from anywhere.

Yes...he can use VPN to view his PC's desktop from anywhere....but keep in mind that the motion will not be as fluid over the Internet.
Depending on the quality of his connection, it will range from more of a frame-by-frame "motion" to none at all.
Accessing one's static desktop remotely in a workable manner is one thing.....viewing the full motion video on that remote desktop is another matter.
I'm not saying to won't work....or that it is not worth doing....but the video quality will probably be much less than one might anticipate.
