The sound card in my computer doesn't have coaxial or optical output. Would it be possible to run Dolby Digital 5.1 from a Sound Blaster 24bit to this amplifier: http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/ProductDetailDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&productId=1001239&navigationPath=33000n46803

It is possible to have a 5.1 sound card because I have (had) a motherboard with built-in Dolby. If the sound card has the on board processor and the proper analog outputs. If you have 4 channel surround you could synthesize the sub-woofer channel with the proper amp. I know nothing of your 24-bit SoundBlaster.

It's a SoundBlaster Live 24bit. It supports Dolby Digital 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 (for games). It has no digital outputs though, The outputs are all 3.5mm jacks.
