I have an odd setup, and an odd request

I live in an apartment, built kinda like a hotel, you cant get in unless you have a key or a visitor with someone who does.

In my apartment, I have a computer wired to the "Door Latch" button so that it opens at scheduald times ( I dont have my own key cause managment sux here, my key broke)

What I need is a program that will run a program when it hears a combination of sounds.

Im desprite any input would be AWSOME!

You don't need a computer just a tone detector chip connected to a relay with a little logic to select the key to unlock. If your enterphone (intercom) has a telephone key pad you don't even have to carry an encoder.

I dont carry an encoder... and all I need is a program that will run a program when I press the call button in a morse code type of way... there is no key pad. Or I wouldnt have the computer attached to it...

Its a simple 16Volt three wire intercom... very poorly made... I just want to have my server pick up the sounds and run the batch file I made to open the door...

You must have a buzzer system. You don't need a tone detector but a pulse / interval pattern matcher. Since you probably have access to the buzzer signal voltage, it would probably easier to use a buffered connection to either a serial, parallel, or game port. A good use for a DOS computer or maybe even simpler a STAMP chip.

CLAP ON, CLAP OFF!

I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter

I have plans as far as the sounds go. I have tought of every posible way, INCLUDING translator for the sound... If I record the sound that the "buzzer" makes.. You'll understand why I cant do it like that.

It more of a highr pitch sound buzz/ring
Wheather it makes the same sound in each apartment I don know. But I have everything set up. All I need now is the program.

Many years ago, (in 99 I think) I found and downloaded some lousy (but free) voice recognition software. It ran any program you wanted, but diddn't do dictation. I was able to bring up a web browser by clapping my hands three times. I think that's the kind of thing you're looking for. good luck.
