I wonder if someone can help me , i just bought a new pc ,os xp, and wanted to transfer my old files from my old pc (os me)mainly photos and fav web sites but if everything gets transferred then i can pick and choose what i want to keep. Anyhow i know in xp theres a files and settings transfer wizard, i purchased the correct 9 pin com lead but i get stumped when it asks to create a wizard disk. Windows was pre-installed on my new pc so i dont have the windows xp cd , i have to create using a cd so any help on how to transfer files will be greatly appreciated.

Use one of the following ways:

1. use a direct connection cable to connect 2 PCs to transfer the files/folders from the old PC to the new PC
2. if 2 PCs are on the network, share the files/folders of the old PC with new PC
3. use a flash drive
4. pull out the drive from the old PC and install it in the new drive and start the new PC to retieve the old drive files/folders
5. copy the files/drives to an external hard drive (internal drive) and connect the external drive (internal drive) to the new PC
6. use the web site storage as the intermediate storage
7. use email

Also, this isn't really a database question. There's an XP Forum too. :)
