Transfering Memory Cards

Specs: Windows XP
I have a Dell Computer with Windows XP OS, my son wants to give me his computer with Windows XP also, but I don't want to lose all my data (i.e, music, pictures, word files). What's the best way to do this, data cable or simply remove my memory card and put in his? His machine is more powerful and has more memory

What do you mean by "Memory Card?" Are you planning on replacing your machine with the new one and you want to transfer data from the current machine to the new one? Why not keep both?

Yes, i plan on replacing mine with his. If I don't have to take out the memory card then I won't, just trying to figure out the easiest route.
