Hello, I had to delete all the jpg file attachments from my forums, due to the limit of the hosting service. But i did create a forum backup file before i did that. Now I wonder if it's possible to recover the jpg files from the large SQL file. is there a program that will retrieve files from the SQL file, and save individual files from it to the computer?

Let me know...Thanks

Why do you think this is an SQL file?
Look at your backup and give us more detail.

The name of the file forumbackup-11-24-2009-29153.sql

The file is 20mb

It's a vbulleton forum backup file, it contains user data, posts threads etc. It also contains the attachment data which are Jpeg picture files.. I would like to extract the jpeg picture files from this sql file.. Is this possible?

There's a program called SQL image viewer, I tried it and it looks for a database connection. I have the backup file on my computer

Unfortunately I don't think you'll be able to get back your jpeg files from this file.

Usually a .sql file will just be a series of text commands to recreate a database. As such, it will remember where your jpg files were held, but not the data itself.

Unless some other more knowledgeable poster can help?
