Sony Vaio Desktop - Lost Data

My Vaio would not load windows XP, instead, continuous loop asking what mode I would like to start up in? I finally used the "Sony Vaio" system restore to factory. I lost EVERYTHING!!! Is there anything at all I can do to recover any of my files?

"Restore to Factory Settings" does just that. Don't you have backups of your data? Also, this is the Database Forum.
