Please, I want to ask a question. I am an undergraduate student in the final year of university. My speciality is IT.What I learned are the basics of C++ and very small about java and concepts of database. And in the final year, I am required to choose a computerized database project with a web-based inteface. Also, I am required not to choose a very easy project it has to be a little complicated. Also, I have to avoid the following ideas for the project : Business buying or selling. Real estate. School, library, university systems Hospital or pharmacetical system. Car renting system Hotel reservation or registration or likewise systems. For this reason I am trying to learn ASP.NET supported with language C#. I don't know what project to choose? Please, Can anyone suggest on me what project to choose? And if there is any other advise? Thanks in advance

Hello Elinor, Thanks Elinor very much for your reply. It is supposed that this project should take a whole year(two semesters) from oct 2008 to may or june 2009. Actually, it has to pass through all development processes: Analysis, design, implementaton and testing. Hope that you can give me any hints and helps.

Hi again, Mmmm... don't know whether the following would be allowed: - time-sheet/task/project management software - a CRM type software (like an easy-to-use 'sugarCRM' for instance) - a community website (e.g. for people from your own school to join and share course information, job information, get in touch with people from their own school years, etc.) - a training platform (e.g. e-learning) - a platform for home-nurses that will automatically schedule which patient the nurse should visit when according to the patient's needs and to nurse availability (not sure whether this falls in your 'hospital' category) - ... None of this is really innovating and there are loads of these about to learn from and see what could be made better. Not sure whether this helps but perhaps it's given you other ideas ;-). I'd go to a company or not for profit organization and ask them what they could use. I know I have one in mind that I could sure find a use for. I assist a not for profit. We currently use an old form maker database. What I'd like is to use the standard forms in a web gui. Use certificates on usb's/floppies to secure the sites access. Each form is is basically the same depending on how far it goes in the process. The fist page is basically copied to the next. So for each case number you'd get up to 4 levels. Each level could have the standard form but each case is different. Some fields could be pull down or free form. Some fields could be pulled from a different database such as person's id number. Also a global search for each field. Either show all of that person or all cases that have keywords and so on. If the program that you write is good enough it might be sold to them and you'd get a good grade. You'd have a dual motivation and extra reason.
