i am a non-professional user of MS Access for the last 8 years and through playing, eperimenting and searching i can say that have become pretty good at it (i have not taken any course in MS Access other than 1 introductory course of maybe 20 hours - i am self tought).

During the last 2 months i have been creating a program for my job in MS Access 2007. it ended up becoming a vrey complex program and its expansion requires lots of time that made me think of checking other database creation solutions.

i am thinking of checking MySQL and i have the following questions:

1. Does MySQL has embeded GUI creation facilities (like forms and reports of MS Access)? if not, what software are used to create GUI for MySQL based databases?

2. does MySQL allow:
a. code to automatically create tables, queries, forms, reports based on default formats plus add new code for the new tables etc.
example: each customer has its own table. the code should create a new table plus all relevant forms, queries etc that will refer to that table. also, update queries (in sql code (runsql(" ")) exist for each customer table and the code must add such queries for the new table.

b. web interface

3. Please recomment some good books for MySQL & GUI for begineers and for advance users so as to look at.

Thanks

For Questions 1 & 2 you will need to write a GUI program to interface your database. MS Visual Basic is a good option for you and works well with Access or MySQL.

For the web, PHP seems to be popular and its FREE. ASP.NET is another option if you want to stay with MS products.
